Một clip video được phát tán trên mạng xã hội trong những ngày vừa qua đã gây phẫn nộ cộng đồng người Việt tại hải ngoại: một đám du học sinh Việt Nam tại một trường trung học ở Úc đã xé cờ vàng, nhục mạ công khai cộng đồng người Việt tị nạn.

Vào ngày 2 tháng 5 năm 2021, chúng tôi nhận được một đoạn phim ngắn thâu lại một nhóm học sinh tại khu vực Marrickville đạp lên lá Cờ Việt Nam Cộng Hòa và dùng những lời lẽ thô tục nhục mạ Cộng đồng Người Việt Tự Do.
Chúng tôi đã liên lạc với Hiệu Trưởng trường Marrickville và nhân viên trong Bộ Giáo Dục NSW để điều tra. Chúng tôi sẽ cho quý vị hay thêm tin khi nhận được tin từ trường và Bộ Giáo Dục.
Re: URGENT - Desecration of the Republic of Vietnam’s flag in public
I write to you on behalf of the Vietnamese Community in Australia NSW (VCA NSW), to convey our concerns regarding the above-mentioned matter.
There is evidence that a group of students, in school uniforms almost identical to that of Marrickville High School, has committed an act of desecration of the flag of the Republic of Vietnam in public. The act was filmed and circulated on social media.
In the video, one student has pulled down the flag of The Republic of Vietnam wilfully, stepped on, maliciously destroyed, dishonored the flag, and verbally insulted the Vietnamese Community in Australia.
Upon investigation, we have gathered that this incident took place sometime on Friday 30 April 2021 on Arthur Street, corner of Illawarra Road, near Marrickville station. I have included the video footage for your perusal in the link attached.
This incident took place on the National Resentment Day of the Republic of Vietnam - the Fall of Saigon. On 30 April 1975, thousands of Vietnamese were killed because of the Communist Government’s attack. Subsequently, millions of people had risked their lives on dangerous boat journeys, and hundreds of thousands of people died at sea in the search for freedom.
The incident has caused extreme outrage within our community. The Vietnamese community has settled in Australia for forty-six years. Most of us came as refugees. This act represents total disrespect and disregard for those who have sacrificed to protect our country, and the treatment we have suffered.
The Republic of Vietnam’s flag has been recognized by many local councils as the official flag of the Vietnamese Community in Australia after more than 40 years of settlement. This matter has been discussed in great detail within our community and we unanimously request:
1. Your confirmation that this group of students attend your school.
2. If it is indeed students from your school, we request a letter of response from Marrickville High School in respect to the indecent acts of your students in school uniform in public.
3. A personal apology from the students or the responsible parents.
We strongly suggest Marrickville High School to have further discussions with the students’ parents or primary caregivers on the gravity of flag desecration, and vandalism to communal property. We hope your school also takes appropriate disciplinary action on the students.
Depending on the outcome, we might need to seek media attention, and request NSW police’s investigation on the prosecution of disorderly conduct, vandalism, and malicious damage to property.

Du học sinh Việt Nam ở Úc dẫm đạp cờ vàng, lăng mạ cộng đồng Việt tị nạn

Một clip video được phát tán trên mạng xã hội trong những ngày vừa qua đã gây phẫn nộ cộng đồng người Việt tại hải ngoại: một đám du học sinh Việt Nam tại một trường trung học ở Úc đã xé cờ vàng, nhục mạ công khai cộng đồng người Việt tị nạn.
Đoạn video được cho là quay bởi chính nhóm du học sinh Việt Nam được phát tán vào ngày 1 tháng 5 2021, đúng dịp cộng đồng người Việt tị nạn kỷ niệm 46 năm Tháng Tư Đen. Đám du học sinh này thuộc trường trung học Marrickville, gần Sydney của Úc. Chúng đã xé lá cờ được treo trên đường phố rồi giẫm đạp lên lá cờ. Chúng còn dùng thứ ngôn ngữ giọng Bắc thô tục, vô học thức để xúc phạm cộng đồng gốc Việt: “Đ. mẹ mày, cầm cờ để giải phóng đất nhà bố mày à. Đ. mẹ chúng mày...Bố mày thay mặt 90 triệu dân VN...”
Đoạn video này lập tức bị phản ứng quyết liệt bởi nhà trường và cộng đồng người Việt tị nạn. Ban giám hiệu trường trung học Marrickville ra thông báo cho biết đã đình chỉ việc học của các học sinh có liên quan. Nhà trường cũng khẳng định đoạn video clip không thể hiện quan điểm của trường. Cảnh sát đã được thông báo sự việc.
Cộng đồng mạng gốc Việt lên tiếng phẫn nộ. Nhiều người cho rẳng những học sinh được cho đi du học phải thuộc tầng lớp giàu có, quyền thế trong nước. Thế nhưng lối hành xử vô văn hóa của chúng cho thấy rằng thế hệ trẻ thuộc tầng lớp “quí tộc, thuợng lưu” này không được giáo dục nhân cách. Nếu những kẻ vô học như vậy về nước tiếp tục làm lãnh đạo thì sẽ là một tai họa của đất nước. Đoạn video cũng cho thấy chính sách giáo dục của chính quyền CSVN không thể mang lại một sự “hòa hợp, hòa giải” thật sự cho các thế hệ tương lai. (VB)
