Captain of US aircraft carrier is Iranian-American who fled Tehran during 1979 Islamic Revolution by Carlin Becker

This story reminds me of another happy ending story of a soldier in the US Navy. His name is Nguyen Tu Huan who was just been promoted to Rear Admiral last October in 2019. During the TET Offensive in 1968, Huan was a 9 years old boy.
Huan was the sole survivor of a 9 member family while the rest of his family were murdered in cold blood by the VC after tortured Huan's father (who was a Lt. Colonel of South Vietnam Army at the time. The murderers left thinking the whole family was dead, but later people found Huan was critically injured, barely alive. Huan was taken to the hospital just in time before it was too late. His uncle took him in and the uncle's family fled to the US in 1975 when Saigon fell to Communists. Forty-five years later, the 9 years old boy now is a US Naval Flag officer. (Phuc Nguyen)
