Sean Fitzgerald videos on same subject. Mr. Fitzgerald sometimes uses vulgar expletives but his documentation on this subject is nonethelss compelling.
Current educational excuse for a "system" is pathetic. I taught school (high school math, and history) for several years. Situation is deplorable. Many...far too many...younger teachers are ill-read and simply parrot the babble they receive in "curriculum guides." These "guides" make it easy for teachers, providing chapter outlines, quiz and test sheets to photocopy, etc. This abject failure amplified by fact that many states require no more than one year of U.S. history for graduation. This is inexcusable and completely inadequate. Four years are needed. Same with world history. One year requirement (maybe), and that's it. One high school text I reviewed said "Mao Tse-tung gave land to the peasants." Is that why 60 million died? They had heart attacks from working all the land Mao gave them?
The situation is unacceptable, yet there is absolutely no ray of hope on horizon for any improvement.
